Discover our delightful authentic
Middle Eastern spices in New York

It’s no secret that spices can zest up your life as much as
your foods! Our spices are at the crux of our mission
to create the most delicious shwarama, so we’re excited
to share more about our favorite ingredients.

1

Cumin

adds a nutty and peppery flavor to Middle Eastern cuisine. Originated in Egypt, crushed cumin seeds are our most medicinal spice. Chock-full of iron and other healthful properties, they boost energy, strengthen immune systems, and even prevent aging! We’re obsessed with this all-inclusive spice!

2

Coriander

comes from the coriander plant’s sweet and hearty seeds. Its main benefit is its ability to soothe digestive ailments and lower blood pressure. Basically, its curative power is to relax the body. Can we get a Namaste?

3

Cinnamon

contains compounds that can help control blood-sugar problems, ward off type 2 diabetes and even Alzheimer’s disease.

4

Sumac

comes from berries of the sumac bush, which are dried then coarsely ground. Known as an antioxidant, Sumac can help with indigestion, protect cells from damage, and even fight against cancer.

5

Za'tar

is an aromatic blend of spices that includes dried thyme, sumac, oregano, marjoram, and sesame seeds. It’s used generously all over the Middle East, sprinkled over bread, yogurt, olive oil, and other foods for a savory kick.

6

Aleppo Pepper

is crushed dried chili with medium heat adding an earthy, powerful flavor to our cuisine. Aleppo in Syria is one of the world’s oldest cities and once a terminus of the fabled Silk Road. Along with a rich history, it’s also rich in vitamins that can help increase metabolism rates and help shed those pounds!
